Stratton Church Craft Fair

Stratton Church, a stunning backdrop for an excellent craft fair.

Lots of interest in Folk Art and extremely happy visitors creating beautiful projects with
Folk It  techniques and DecoArt Americana Paint.

Happy Dotting everyone xx

Time to catch up on news for the Blog

Been a tad busy, so surprised to see my last post was 2016 - Gee where does the time go.

My new Face Book page has been a vast learning curve.

I'm back into the craft fair arena, promoting courses and workshops and running Make & Take sessions too.

New students and lots of new projects that need to be shared in so many places.

Watch this space.

At last I'm on the right road for me.

Happy Painting.

Royal Cornwall County Show 2016

Bude WI  entered the County WI Competition for the Show Cup.
The theme for the display was "Reuse, Recycle - Too Good To Waste"
I am one of the team who organised the projects for this show.
We decided on a Beachcombing theme.
My contribution - the painted poster and beach hut.
We won 3rd prize - doing a happy dance,

I also entered the "Royal Celebration" Competion - a Birthday Card for the Queens 90th birthday.
Created using my sisters Dies and cutting machine and one of my favourite techniques "Mud"
Not what I call a card maker!!!! Am really pleased with the effect, though I do not know what the outcome was at the show.

Teddy Family - Intermediate Painters

Teddies are always a firm favourite with students.
I have a super duper book - Bear Hugs & Jelly Beans by Jo Sonja.
My Intermediate students are working through The Honeysuckle Bears.
Gandma in a Rocking Chair with Grandpa and the Grand Children.
Working together with just the line drawing, using Deco Art Americana paint.
No instructions - using techniques previously learnt, creating projects with our own style of painting.
This is a good way to assess what my students will need to be taught later on.

Step by step.

First half day - Basecoated, stencilled border and transferred.

Day 2 - Half Day
One little girl & Grandpas fur and hat.

Day 3 - Full Day
Granpas clothes etc - 3 little bears and the start of the chair

Day 4 - Full Day

Day 5 - Full Day
Two little bears and a bit of tweaking!
Done & Dusted - 3 superb projects.
Love watching students working through a detailed project like this.
Happy smiling faces. HAPPY PAINTING

Kim & Alan - Their painting journey

The Folk It kits are a perfect resource for learning the traditional style of Folk Art painting.

Kim has wanted to learn to paint, her husband Alan has also joined in with the beginners projects.
Sadly Alan has MND (Motor Neuron Disease) and his hand shakes when painting, but just look at the BRILL projects he has produced, am so proud of them both. And sometimes friends and family have a go too. Happy Days of Painting.
